Once again this year, Fieracavalli, the most anticipated event on the equestrian scene, opens its doors to more than 35 breeding associations to celebrate together the timeless and boundless beauty of the horse.
The 126th edition, scheduled for Nov. 7-10 at Veronafiere, will feature for the 18th consecutive year the participation of the Cottanello-based Tolfetano Horse Riders and Breeders Association, which has been committed to the protection and enhancement of the Tolfetan breed for decades.
The Tolfetano horse, native to Central Italy (particularly the mountainous areas of Tolfa between the provinces of Rome and Viterbo) is the perfect symbol of an ancient tradition, closely linked to the figure of the Maremma cowboys.
Thanks to the association, the public will have the opportunity to witness a historical-artistic re-enactment of the ancient tradition of the cowboys at the covered area A of Fieracavalli.
The protagonists who will take the field this year – in addition to the 25 specimens of pure Tolfetan breed – will be the young exponents of the group: Emma and Noemi – 18 and 17 years old, respectively – the very young Azzurra and Rachele, 14 years old, and Tommaso, a rookie of just 7 years old, who will be the real mascot and good luck charm of the group. The performance will be a tribute to remember – six years after his passing – Dean Mauro Perni one of the founders of the Tolfetan horse breed and a friend of Fieracavalli.
This is just one of the must-see events where tradition, entertainment and culture come together to celebrate the horse.
