Imposing but at the same time docile, the Shire horse will return to enchant the audience of the Verona equestrian event again in this edition. Despite its imposing size, this equine-originally from the land of the Midlands in England-is known for its calm disposition that historically made it the ideal horse for heavy work and transport especially during the reign of Henry VIII. Even today, the shire is still employed for moving large loads in British cities, especially wagons with casks containing beer.
This year at the fair, the stars will be Conan and Barwood Top Notch, two extraordinary specimens of Shire from the Lone Columbia Ranch. Thanks to their presence – in Area A and inside Hall 1 of Fieracavalli – visitors will be able to admire the charm of these “good giants” up close. Despite the fact that they can reach two meters at the withers and exceed a ton of weight, they are such docile horses that they can be entrusted even to a child.
Don’t miss your chance for an unforgettable experience. Conan and Barwood Top Notch will be waiting for you along with more than 2,000 specimens to transport you into the magic of the equestrian world at Fieracavalli Nov. 7-10, 2024.
