Yesterday saw Tenuta Ambelia host with great success the first stage of the 2022 Mediterranean Horse Fair, the event organized by the Sicily Region with the support of Fieracavalli. There was a superb programme of equestrian shows, breeder reviews, sporting competitions and special guests. The three-day event at the Tenuta Amelia Mediterranean Equestrian Centre in Catania attracted thousands of visitors, including experts and enthusiasts, thereby confirming its status as the landmark centre for the equestrian world in Southern Italy.
This year’s competitive schedule was particularly impressive: the FieraAmbelia Top Jumping Grand Prix was a triumph got Nicolò Russello, riding Federer; second and third places went to Elisabetta Vacirca in the saddle on Cassus Blu and Alessia Ruggeri with Carlina del Castello. Not only show jumping, but also a western gymkhana, the Italian Driving Cup for teams and, for the first time in the history of the event, even an endurance contest.
There was truly massive ovations and applause for the flamenco show by the guest of honour at the event: Cordoba Ecuestre, the historic Andalusian association committed to safeguarding Spanish Thoroughbred Horse, which this year also forged a bond with Sicilian Institute for Equine Improvement. This will help bring about a training school for professionals at Tenuta Ambelia, starting from the experience of the school that has always represented equestrian excellence around the world.
The Mediterranean Horse Fair is ready to welcome you again 28-29 May at La Favorita Racecourse in Palermo with a program overflowing with innovations.
