Inside Pavilion 12, alongside the Westernshow competitions, visitors can explore a small but faithful recreation of Ranch Pietracavalla, where children have the chance to experience the thrill of riding a pony or donkey for the first time.
“It’s an experience that captivates children as much as it delights their parents, who are thrilled to see their kids approaching the equestrian world with so much curiosity and joy. I was truly moved,” says Simona, the estate owner and a certified Level 3 FISE instructor.
“We spent about six hours a day with the children, introducing them to their first ride. They were excited and couldn’t wait to jump on. When I ask if it’s their first time, they eagerly say yes, and I feel especially moved and honored to share such a special moment with them. I prepare personalized certificates for each child, noting their name and the type of first ride they had.”
For Simona, being at Fieracavalli always brings back cherished memories from her childhood, beginning when she was only four.
“On November 8, my birthday, my father—a businessman who was rarely at home—would always take the day off to bring me to Fieracavalli. It was there that I bought my first saddle, my first pony, and had my first encounter with a horse. Now, with my father at 80 years old, I’m proud to carry forward his vision and see the pride he takes in me.”
