Franco Giani, a Parelli method instructor for over 25 years, has always had a deep passion for horses. “My goal is to understand them deeply,” he explains.
“Horses are much more than just animals to ride: they are an attitude on four legs, and learning their language is essential to establish an authentic connection. Two friends can never be called friends if they don’t speak the same language. That’s why, with horses, who unlike humans don’t use verbal language, physical interaction is necessary.”
The instructor’s teaching approach is based on the understanding that communication with horses goes beyond commands, involving respect, understanding, and interpreting their movements.
During these days of the fair, the audience at the Horse Friendly Arena and visitors in Area A have appreciated his work.
“I’ve seen the enthusiasm of people because I’m not proposing a different kind of riding, but simply a different and more conscious way to approach the animal. My goal is for the term ‘natural,’ which categorizes my training, to become the norm for everyone. We must learn to put ourselves in a listening and observing position with this beautiful animal. And if today’s world often pushes us to rush, not looking or listening carefully, the horse teaches us to live in the here and now, noticing the small details that are invisible but fundamental.”
