The memory of his first performance at the Golden Gala-the show that lights up the Verona nights of Fieracavalli-is still vivid for Giuseppe Cimarosa, elected in 2013 as one of the rising stars of equestrian art. Over the years, satisfactions and awards have confirmed his exceptional talent, culminating in his victory as best male performer at the Dreams Gold Gala.
“The Sword of Zeus” was the title of my performance, an equestrian tale steeped in mythology. It was, without a doubt, one of the most extraordinary moments of my life and artistic career, one that made me truly proud, despite the demanding challenges I faced to achieve this great goal. I could feel the energy of the audience, the artists in the choreography and especially my horse. Everything was magical.”
The Sicilian artist is ready to return to the field for the ARTè Gala D’Oro edition to thrill the audience with a performance inspired by the great sculptor – as well as a great horse lover – Marino Marini. What do the two artists have in common?
The desire to see horse and rider merge body and soul until they almost become a mythological creature, a centaur.
“I always want the audience to come to feel the bond-what I like to call ‘ancestral’-that I have with my horses. For me, they are not simply animals, they are an integral part of my life, a fundamental element of my being that comes before anything else in the world. During these years at Fieracavalli, I have been privileged to enjoy the trust and support of Antonio Giarola, the artistic director of the Golden Gala, who has allowed me to bring my elective affinity to the stage. I look forward to returning to Verona. ”
Giuseppe Cimarosa looks forward to seeing you at the ARTè Golden Gala, scheduled November 9-11, only at Fieracavalli.
