The Stadio dei Marmi in Rome today, during the sixteenth leg of the Longines Global Champions Tour 2019, Fieracavalli, the Fieracavalli Academy and Jumping Verona were promoted by Giovanni Mantovani and Barbara Blasevich, respectively CEO and Director of Veronafiere. Other attendees also included Giovanni Malagò, President of Coni, Marco di Paola, President of FISE, Simone Perillo, Secretary General of FISE, and Alessandro Silvestri, President of Fitetrec-Ante.
After Piazza di Siena in May and today’s event in Rome, the next not-to-be-missed event representing the maximum expressions of equestrian sport in Italy will be Fieracavalli. The 19th edition of Jumping Verona will be held in Verona 7-10 November: the only Italian leg of the Longines Fei Jumping World Cup – and Michel Robert will be one of the protagonists. Thanks to the wild card issued by the Organising Committee, the French champion is in fact the first rider registered for the fourth leg of the Longines FEI Jumping World CupTM 2019/2020.
Although he announced his retirement a few years ago, Michel Robert, whose career boasts Olympic and World Championships medals, is experiencing a second sporting youth (two recent victories in the San Gallo Piccolo Gran Premio and the Valence Grand Prix). Yet the French show jumping ace is also a famous trainer and the founder of the Horse Academy. And it is in this capacity that it will also be possible to see him at work in Verona thanks to Fieracavalli Academy, a project that aims to promote a culture that is increasingly respectful of animal welfare at all levels.
