First weekend of competitions in the Fise Arena

Events in Hall 5 underway

Yesterday, Thursday 4 November, saw the full programme of national show jumping competitions get underway in the FISE Arena, Hall 5 at Fieracavalli, where all the sports and entertainment activities of the Italian Federation of Equestrian Sports will take place. The morning started with the Master Sport Goldspan timed events (Gold, Silver and Bronze) and then continued with the first heats of the Best Rider My Horse with the best qualified pairs in the field after the final of the Circuit. Yesterday ended with the Pony My Horse Champions Cup and the Pony My Horse Trophy.

Today, Friday 5, saw the conclusion of the most important  Best Rider My Horse level 3 competitions, which saw Caterina Faini from Lombardy in the saddle on Hertog Henry triumph in the senior category. The winner of the Best Rider in pony category also comes from Lombardy: Ludovica Camerlengo riding Piemont Amira.

Very young riders and their ponies also battled it out and today saw the best come to the fore out of the 35 pairs taking the field, calculated as the sum of results of the two categories disputed yesterday against the clock and today in consecutive stages for a height of 110 cm. Niccolò Perugino, a pupil of Mario Giunti and registered with Dunia Ranch – Tuscany, took top place on the podium, finishing with 66 points of honour on Liskillen Rebel. Second place went the pupil from the Marches Region of C.I. Val dell’Isauro, instructor Giulio Cucchi, riding Nuts, with a total of 60 points. Third place went to Aurora Rosa Caruso for Sicily, riding Ocean Aengus Dun, a pupil the Riders Club Asd Sicilia, instructor Filippo Infantino, with 58 points.

The 2021 My Horse Pony Trophy saw 49 starters and was won by Sofia Zara, a pupil of C.I. I Pavoni, Sardinia, instructor Filippo Serrau. In the saddle on Riding Infuso, Sofia finished with 94 points. Second place went to Ginevra Saluzzo Madafferi, a pupil of Società Ippica San Remo, instructor Pietro Nassi, in Liguria, riding Darjeeling La Batia for a total of 93 points. Third place was taken by Viola Garriboli, registered with R.C. Valpolicella, instructor Caroline Bissinger, who finished with 91 points riding Bulgarie.

Today, the champions of the Italian national show jumping team Emanuele Gaudiano, Fabio Brotto, Giulia Martinengo Marquet and Riccardo Pisani – and true idols of fans – together with Sara Morganti, double bronze at the last Tokyo Paralympics, also met their supporters at the FISE Arena for autographs or selfies.

In the meantime, expectations are growing for the team competitions that between tomorrow and Sunday will see all the representatives of the Regional Committees of Italy compete in the field.

Tomorrow, Saturday 6,  sees great enthusiasm for the 45th Under 21 Regions Grand Prix Kep Italy with when finest young riders from all the Italian regions, and the 33rd Pony Regions Cup. The Best Rider Sport My Horse Project and Master Sport Bronze Goldspan competitions also continue of their way.

The weekend culminates on Sunday 7 with the last heats of the Best Rider Sport My Horse Project, the final of the Kep Italia Under 21 Regions Award and the Master Sport Goldspan Silver and Bronze events.
