The “Munich – Verona 2020” raid presented at Fieracavalli 2019

9 November 2019

The equestrian raid returns in 2020 to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the twinning of the two cities

The cities of Munich and Verona celebrate 60 years of twinning in 2020. And for the occasion, the Munich-Verona equestrian raid will return for the next edition of Fieracavalli. The journey was presented today. It will cover a distance of about 600 km, starting off from the centre of Munich to arrive in time for the inauguration of the 2020 edition of Fieracavalli three weeks later.

The route of the last edition will be followed for the most part: horses and riders will pass through the southern part of Bavaria, the Inn valley in Austria, cross the Fernpass and the Resia pass to enter Italy. They will then follow the entire Adige valley before finally reaching Verona. The protagonists of the trip will include personalities from the world of politics, sport and entertainment … as well as “less famous” riders.

It will also be an opportunity to commemorate two important figures in the Italian equestrian world: Mario Palumbo, journalist and director of Cavallo Magazine, and Roberto Gobbi, one of the “fathers” of today’s Fieracavalli.

The journey will be taken again with the aim of bringing people closer to slow and ecological equestrian tourism, for fuller appreciation of nature surrounding us on horseback. It is also an opportunity to promote and support the breeding of Italian horses.

See you at Fieracavalli 2020!
