Fieracavalli, the international trade fair for the equestrian sector, closed its 121st edition with 168,000 visitors from more than 60 countries – a result that posts further growth (+5%) compared to 2018.
On the closing day, the winner of the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ 2019/2020 presented by Volkswagen was Great Britain’s Scott Brash (Hello M’lady, pen.0/0, 35”55).
Ethics and sustainability were the keywords over the four days of the exhibition that closed today at Veronafiere. The event embraced all sectors associated with the world of horses, from sport to equestrian tourism.
Innovations especially included the Fieracavalli Academy, making its official debut this year. “The multi-disciplinary ethical project that brings together all stakeholders in the sector,” said Maurizio Danese, President of Veronafiere, “confirms the central, leading role of Fieracavalli in spreading a culture that is increasingly aware of animal welfare and environmental sustainability. The goal,” President Danese added, “is to promote and support the circular economy in a sector worth a total of 5 billion euros.”
Fieracavalli is known to 43% of the population and around 3 million Italians declare having visited the show, that continues to post high-performance qualitative-quantitative trends. “Profile data for visitors attending this edition,” said Giovanni Mantovani, CEO of Veronafiere, “reflect an event that, on the one hand, expands the Italian catchment area with many new entries on a regional level and, on the other, strengthens incoming international attendance on the target business. For the first time this year,” Mantovani added, “we organised b2b meetings with the ICE-Italian Trade Agency involving more than 50 selected top buyers from 18 countries. These efforts ensure that Fieracavalli is able to combine passion and economic development in a sector winning renewed attention even in political spheres.”
The next edition of Fieracavalli is scheduled 5-8 November 2020.
