The first day of the 124th edition of Fieracavalli ended with the Riding The Blue Charity Dinner & Gala, the charity event in support of the crowdfunding campaign ‘Riding the Blue – A horse for a friend’.
The only Italian stage of the World Cup, expected on Sunday 6 November at 2.30 p.m. at Pala Volkswagen, will also be inaugurated on the opening night. Special godmother Antonella Clerici, a great friend of Fieracavalli.
Antonella, together with the president of Veronafiere Federico Bricolo, the president of FISE Marco Di Paola, judge Alfred K. Boll, the show director of Jumping Verona Riccardo Boricchi, the chosen carabiniere Filippo Bologni and the president of Alis Guido Grimaldi, officially kicked off the 21st edition of Jumping Verona, which hosts the Longines Fei Jumping World Cup, following the raising of the Fei and Italian flag.
‘I love Fieracavalli and Verona,’ Antonella says. “It’s a nice moment of aggregation for great athletes but also for enthusiasts like me who wander among the stands and can buy everything they need for riding. I do this for my daughter, who rides but does not jump. She has a very ethological relationship with the horse, she wants to become a vet. She has her own horse, my partner is a breeder and we live surrounded by horses, the relationship with them is all-encompassing. I think horse-assisted therapy for children with disabilities, which we talked about tonight, is very important. The horse is an extraordinary animal’.
