On September 30th, the competition for the assignment of the Carla Guglielmi National Prize closed. Now in its 6th edition, the prize identifies the national-level thesis for a Bachelor’s degree, Ph.D., or university Master’s that deals with the topic of youth, the associated issues, and Equine-Assisted Interventions as a possible support in specific psychophysical difficulties, but also in the natural growth path towards adulthood. Theme of the 2023 edition:
‘Mane in the wind to dream together – The value of equine-assisted interventions in youth difficulties.’
Today, at 9:30 am at the Veneto Region stand, the prize of €1,500 was awarded to this year’s winner: Margherita Saccardo, a student from Caprino Veronese, with her thesis – earning 110 cum laude – titled ‘The effects of horse-assisted intervention in children with a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder: results obtained in the Riding the Blue project.’
But that’s not all.
Two special mentions were also awarded to Igea Sofia Pellandini from S. Antonio Bellinzona Ticino for the thesis ‘The influence of equine-assisted occupational therapy on the social participation of children with autism spectrum disorders: a literature review’ and to Francesca Rinalsi from Perugia – a graduate in sports science and techniques for preventive and adapted motor activities at the University of Perugia – for the thesis ‘Special amazons, from the chair to the saddle: equine-assisted interventions in infantile cerebral palsy.
