Fieracavalli 2019 welcomes many “family friendly” initiatives to help bring children closer to the equestrian world. The Children’s Village in Hall 1 is an enjoyable, interactive area where more than 20,000 youngsters get together every year to enjoy learning about the equestrian world Events start off on Thursday and Friday with “Horse Friends”, where primary school pupils will have the chance to enjoy games, exhibitions, workshops and shows – and even try their hand at the Saddle christening.
The world of ponies is always hugely fascinating for children and can be experimented thanks to Fise and Fitetrec-Ante and the chance for kids to mount a horse, take part in motor skill tests and care for and clean ponies. Additionally, the magic of horseback acrobatics awaits you, with the multi-medal champion Anna Cavallaro performing with Harley – the horse that accompanied her in her most important victories – in an elegant performance with youngsters and other budding champions of the Ased La Fenice team. A first approach to horseback acrobatics is also possible by experimenting with the mechanical horse Nae, the simulathorse that everyone can ride for exciting “live” training.
And not only horses! Thanks to the Asd Horse Valley sports association, visitors can also discover the special features of donkeys. The ASD Horse Valley stand also hosts a cross-section of the activities of the “social stables” at Corte Molon, home to the association in Verona. The Santa Giuliana Hospital is also involved with a photographic exhibition illustrating equestrian rehabilitation to help adolescents and young people with psychological problems, as well as the Montorio Detention Centre, with its projects for the social reintegration of prisoners.
There is also a focus also on animal-assisted therapy: interactive demonstrations and sensorial workshops will help us learn about the signals and language of horses. Lastly, there are many workshops and recreational-interactive initiatives specifically for children.
A full-scale equestrian world dedicated to families entertaining young and old alike!
