The area at the entrance of the fair, a true showcase of the event, is transformed this year into a lively space featuring continuous shows, events, and demonstrations, from Thursday to Saturday from 9:00 AM to 9:30 PM, and on Sunday from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Right here, in Area A, visitors can get an exclusive preview of what awaits them in the various pavilions during the four-day event.
The stars? Of course, the horses.
In this space, visitors will be able to admire horse breeds from all over the world: from the elegant Quarab — a cross between an Arabian horse and an American Quarter Horse, presented by the AICQA Association — to the majestic “gentle giants,” the Shire horses from Ranch Colomba Solitaria, as well as the Friesians, the Murgesi with ANAMF, the Tolfetani, Maremmani, and the South Tyrolean Haflingers.
Technical demonstrations by ASI – Associazioni Sportive e Sociali Italiane will also take place, showcasing the “Integrated Disciplines” and demonstrating how equestrian activities can become an opportunity for people with disabilities. Franco Giani will also be present, offering a preview of his work on ethological horse training, which will be further explored in Pavilion 11, entirely dedicated to animal welfare.
The schedule of shows and folklore in Area A will feature a wide array of events, including the carousel “Donne in briglia,” a performance celebrating the tradition of the buttero, starring women of the group performing Maremman riding with a single hand, and “Fascino Nero,” a captivating act presented by the rider Francesca on her magnificent Friesian horse, Peitse.
These and many other performances will captivate the Verona audience.
Area A will also host the “Art and Show” competition, organized by FITETREC-ANTE, where participants will compete in the semifinals on Thursday, October 7, and Friday, October 8. During these days, contestants will perform in front of a jury that will evaluate technique, costume, music, and performance. The best from both days will compete on Saturday, October 10, for the final, where the winner will be announced.
